This documentary looks at the life and work of a human rights activist Sudarshan Kumar. A teacher by profession, Kumar was a trade union leader, founder member of the Association for Democratic Rights (AFDR), Punjab and active in the Punjabi Suba Movement. A committed teacher and a simple human being admired even by his ideological opponents, Kumar saw his engagement with human rights issues as following in the footsteps of the Ghadar Party. Focusing attention on people like Kumar shows us how struggles for an egalitarian society are sustained by the painstaking and remarkable work of those rarely documented in the grand accounts of history.
